Our guest rooms have been purpose built for a truly unique hosted farm stay experience. Spring Spur Stay incorporates innovative solar design with carefully considered views, comfortable beds, and private spaces. The Riders Lounge is just a few steps away, where guests can enjoy great food, wine and share stories around the Long Table. These buildings form part of the Spring Spur village with the Homestead, stables, and Steve's Artist Studio close by.
The Spring Spur Stay accommodation building is crafted from mostly salvaged materials to form a comfortable, surprising and functional building that sits at ease amongst the cluster of vernacular buildings that are Spring Spur.
A Stay at Spring Spur is an immersive experience where you can reconnect in cosy comfort with the natural world and farm life, plant your feet on healthy soil, fill your lungs with mountain air and your vision with spectacular alpine scenery.
The group of buildings at Spring Spur were originally imagined as a re-creation of the early homestead clusters, forming a small village of vernacular buildings. The style was influenced by showground pavilion designs, often built of rough timber and playfully decorated with airy slats, pickets, and screens.
The stables and homestead were built in the early 1990s whereas the Riders Lounge and Stay buildings were completed in 2014, true to the original vision.
Situated at the head of the truly beautiful Kiewa Valley, Spring Spur is close to the trailheads of the adjacent Alpine National park, Falls Creek Ski Resort and the food, wine and adventure offerings of the Alpine Valleys of Victoria’s North East.
The Riders Lounge is a common area for the enjoyment of visitors, family and staff. House guests and day riders can meet and exchange stories, while meals are shared at the Long Table which has hosted gatherings of family and friends for close to 50 years . We take pride in serving our guests a variety of seasonal offerings that range from fresh and surprising salads to deeply satisfying wood-fired winter heart warmers.
