Established in 1986, Spring Spur is still owned and operated by the Baird Family. Our stunning property is located on the beautiful foothills of Mount Bogong in Tawonga, a gateway to the ski fields of Falls Creek, and surrounded by local wineries. Lots of love, dedication and extremely hard work has gone into the creation of Spring Spur, with its operation now being multigenerational. With communal spaces and accommodations built by the Baird family hands, using recycled materials and a collection of familial artefacts and paintings throughout, Spring Spur is a warm and intimate space for you to enjoy. Combine that with a huge open fire pit overlooking Mount Feathertop, Spring Spur is the perfect setting for your big day! The property features rolling hills, perfect for saying those two important words from an elevated perspective. Spring Spur is located on 40 hectares of rising farm land, providing you with endless locations for photographic opportunities including the Stables and the Riders Lounge, you can even have our horses featured in some of your shots!

Whether you are looking to enjoy canapes and cocktails in our garden or go a bit more formal with a sit down meal in the Riders Lounge or Stables, your event will be one to remember. Our experienced chefs are able offer everything from cocktail menus, feasting or grazing menus, to gourmet BBQ banquets, all tailored uniquely to fit your style and celebrate you authentically. Everything we plate up is handmade and prepared on site, and sourced from local, ethical and sustainable producers, in our constant aim to provide a premium, delicious and inspiring standard.
Spring Spur is very proud to be able to offer onsite accommodation for 12 guests, usually for the bride and groom, immediate family and wedding party. We can arrange a shuttle for guests staying locally. Talk to us about your preferences regarding the menu or arrange a viewing of the facilities by appointment.
Spring Spur can be exclusively booked as an accommodation venue for groups, an ideal location for large family get-togethers for Christmas, birthdays or special lifetime events. Our onsite accommodation includes 6 versatile en suite rooms sleeping up to 13 people. The Riders Lounge and commercial kitchen provides a great space for cooking up a Christmas feast, long table dinners, board games and dancing!
Spring Spur can accommodate corporate groups also.
Kath and Steve Baird settled in Tawonga with their two young boys Lin and Clay in 1986. They arrived with a truck load of horses and a vision for a family business that would honour the traditions of the High Country horse and offer unique quality visitor experiences. That vision still drives this family business. Spring Spur is truly the home of Bogong Horseback Adventures, the Baird family sanctuary, and for the visitor, a country home away from home.
