Spring Spur is nestled below the peaks of Mount Bogong, Mount Fainter, and Mount Feathertop in the sheltered valley of Mountain Creek an upper tributary of the Kiewa River, is home to Bogong Horseback Adventures and the Baird Family.First acquired by Steve and Kath in the 1980s. Then a cow paddock enclosed by a barbed wire fence, the Spring Spur Farm has been lovingly developed into a home for livestock, humans and all the diversity of life in the Alpine Valleys. Our farm ethos is to grow and nurture links between our stories and our guests, our land and our environment, our family and our community, our paddocks and kitchen and our cultural heritage and nature based adventures.
Kath and Steve Baird settled in Tawonga with their two young boys Lin and Clay in 1986. They arrived with a truck load of horses and a vision for a family business that would honour the traditions of the High Country horse and offer unique quality visitor experiences. That vision still drives this family business. Spring Spur is truly the home of Bogong Horseback Adventures, the Baird family sanctuary, and for the visitor, a country home away from home.
